Description
Valentino is a sinner demon and one of the many Overlords of Hell. He is a major antagonist of Hazbin Hotel.
He is the director and head of the porn studio within V Tower, and a member of the Vees. He is also the owner and boss of his films' main star, Angel Dust, whom he has under contractual obligation.
Appearance
Valentino is a tall, slender, somewhat muscular and broad-shouldered moth demon with lavender skin and lacking pupils and irises in his cerise-pink eyes, over which he is always depicted wearing gold-rimmed, heart-shaped sunglasses with cerise lenses.
His mouth is full of sharp, cerise teeth with a single golden fang that sits to his far left of center, a feature he shares with his employee, Angel Dust. He also has a long cerise tongue.
Valentino's stature is tall, estimated to be around 10 feet,[note 3] which he emphasizes with long black heeled boots. He has fluffy white neck fur with small red love-hearts that plumes up from his coat's break-line. He is bald[note 4] with moth-like antennae; the right appearing like a large white with black heart- striped feather while the left appears smaller and lacking the white areas.
He has an extra set of arms just above his hips. His hands and forearms are black, mimicking black gloves, while the upper halves are his normal skin color.
He has a pair of large red moth wings that features zebra print fur outlining the edges, while the interior is darker colored with several heart designs. These wings are usually wrapped around his body to form a floor-length coat with white fur at the wrists, as well as black-and-white-striped fur trim down the center-front to the bottom hem, and three white stripes on both hips with a heart shaped design on the back. This coat is pinned with a gold chain and gold love-heart shaped broach fastening at the breast.
He also has heart-shaped nipples colored in a darker shade of his skin tone, with gold piercings and a chain hung from them.
Valentino wears a red top hat with a wide, asymmetrical zebra-printed hat-band, in which his antennae poke out like feathers. Under his coat, he wears a chest-exposing dark grey shirt with rolled-up sleeves that are held together by two gold buttons, alongside white dress pants held by a black belt with a golden love-heart shaped buckle, and a pair of high-heeled black boots.
He wears a gold chain necklace hung down to his chest. He wears gold arm bands on his lower wrists, each hand having one gold ring, and sometimes gold nail guards on his fingers.
According to Faustisse, Valentino wears fishnet stockings under his coat.[note 5] This is first seen in "Welcome to Heaven". In "The Show Must Go On", Valentino wears fishnet stockings, a black miniskirt, and black knee-high heeled boots.
Past
Valentino used to have both his antennae look identical, both like large white with black heart-striped feathers. He didn't have his sunglasses and gold fang, and his coat didn't have fur on the wrists and the outline wasn't fluffy. He wore a red fedora with a zebra print band, and white pants with a pink belt that had a gold heart-shaped buckle.
At some point he became acquainted with Vox. Originally, both of Valentino's antennae looked identical, but some time after meeting Vox something happened that caused the left one to be shorter and lack the white areas. At a later point, he became acquainted with a young demon named Velvette, and the trio became the Overlord subgroup known as the Vees.
At some point Valentino hired Angel Dust as one of his porn stars,[1] under the condition that Valentino can only exercise his authority while physically inside his studio and no where else.[2]
From Velvette and Vox's annoyance and experience, Valentino has thrown multiple tantrum-induced rampages, some because of his "whore" employees, that result in destruction, with Vox having to calm him down.[3] Valentino would often act very harsh and aggressive towards his workers, even physically abusing or forcing himself sexually onto Angel Dust.
Valentino at some point gave Angel Dust a demon pig named Fat Nuggets as a pet.[4] According to Angel, Valentino once spent half an hour counting three bills, apparently because how bad his eyesight is, believing there were more.[1]
During the Extermination in the pilot, Vox, Velvette, and Valentino found a decapitated Exorcist and took its head.[5]
"Dirty Healings" comic
Valentino arrives in a limousine and picks up Angel Dust, then chastises him for disobeying his orders and leaving the studio. Valentino snaps his fingers to alert the driver to stop, then explains that as Angel had missed a movie shoot involving a gang bang he has to stand on the corner of the street and prostitute himself to make up for it.

Waiting out the Extermination
Valentino is seen alongside his fellow Overlords Vox and Velvette inside his porn studio after the Extermination ended. He is seen texting Angel Dust, inquiring him on where his money is.
When Vaggie explains to Angel Dust about Alastor's origins, several overlords can be seen, including Valentino.
Hazbin Hotel Season 1
"Radio Killed the Video Star"
Valentino is sending Angel Dust several texts telling him to come to the studio as he's having ideas for new porn.
After learning Angel Dust has permanently moved out, Valentino goes on to have a tantrum-induced rampage in Velvette's studio, destroying things and ripping apart her employees. He then goes to his room, waiting for Vox.
When Vox enters Valentino's room in order to calm him, Valentino goes on ranting about what happened and decides to kill everyone at the Hazbin Hotel, even trying to find a gun which made him look sexier, but Vox immediately stops his plan. Vox points out that the Vees' brand is perfection, and Valentino would make them look weak if it seemed like he couldn't control his employees. Reluctantly, Valentino backs down, then reveals that another Sinner is currently taking residency at the Hotel; Vox's sworn enemy, Alastor.
As Vox and Alastor are arguing on air, Valentino and Velvette are on their phones in Valentino's room. Valentino and Velvette smiled when Alastor pointed out Vox is nothing without them, and Vox continued to become so angry he shocked the other Vees and blacked out Pentagram City.
Later during a meeting on what to do to prevent Charlie and Alastor from making a deal, Valentino was busy decorating his gun, Moneyshot, with glue and gemstones. He suggests "putting something inside them", which Vox interprets as hiring a mole with no direct ties and is easily expendable. Valentino points out he had already hired nearly every loser sinner in their side of Hell, so he doesn't know who was left.
Afterwards, Valentino left many voice messages to Angel, begging and threatening him to move back in.
"Masquerade"
Valentino calls Angel Dust to come in for work.
Later at the studio, Valentino tells Angel to improvise the lines as people don't pay attention to dialogue in adult films. When Charlie arrives to the studio, Valentino greets her and licks her arm, and offers her a part in his films. After she rejects his offer, Valentino allows Charlie to stay and he resumes the filming from the beginning.
Valentino abusing Angel
Valentino begins to be annoyed by Charlie as she distracts the boom operator, and enraged when she accidentally starts a fire. He unfolds his wings and produces a wind gust strong enough to put the fire out in one blow. With the fire out, he orders Angel into the dressing room to "talk" in private. After closing the door, he physically and mentally abuses him, demanding he remove Charlie and tells him he will be filming all night. Despite Charlie becoming angry and turning into her full demon form at his treatment of Angel, he stood unfazed as Angel stops her and tells her to leave.
Valentino has Angel work all night long on multiple projects, from movie shoots to a music video, and in between shots the pair have sex together. After all the filming, Valentino is in the garden with Vox shaking hands, and after Vox electroports away after seeing Angel on the balcony, Valentino notices Angel and walks away.
"Welcome to Heaven"
According to Angel Dust, Valentino has gotten into waterboarding.
In the nightclub called Consent, Valentino is hanging out trying to hire new employees.
When a drunk Niffty notices Valentino and runs toward him, Angel Dust, who wanted to leave the nightclub before Valentino sees him, rushes over to take her away. Niffty tries to bite Valentino's hand off to "taste" him when he tries to reach for her and is rather put off by Niffty's stalker-ish and homicidal behavior, but thinks there is some potential in her.
Angel standing up to Valentino
Angel takes Niffty away from him, telling Valentino to "fuck off". Furious at the disrespect, Valentino tries to exercise his authority, even summoning smoke chains, only for Angel to point out the one loophole in their deal; while Valentino can "do whatever he wants to him" inside the studio, Valentino has no real authority over Angel outside his studio and once again tells Valentino to fuck off. Angered, he backhands Angel in the face and threatened to make Angel pay for it tomorrow at work.
As he watches Angel leave the club, Niffty rips some of Valentino's neck fur off for her "collection", much to his pain and disturbance.
"The Show Must Go On"
The day of the early Extermination, he, Velvette, and Vox watch the Extermination on the TV in V Tower. When Vox flips off Alastor on the screen when the Exorcist leader Adam defeats him and says it was "better than sex", Valentino shows clear disappointment. He becomes interested in the fight between Lucifer and Adam when the former accidentally made a sexual innuendo. The Vees, especially Valentino, are shocked by Niffty after seeing her murder Adam with sadistic glee.
After the first ever cancellation of the Extermination, Valentino sees the 666 News about it on Velvette's phone then sits and watches on TV. Afterwards, he sings and dances with Vox on how there is a now a power vacuum that the Vees can take advantage of to rule all of Hell. In the end, Vox and Valentino begin passionately making out as Velvette takes a selfie with them in the background.
Personality
Valentino has been described as being charming[note 6] and roughly as level-headed as his fellow Overlord, Vox.[note 7] When he interacts with Charlie in his studio he acts cordial around her while struggling to hide his anger and irritation that he would prefer to take out on one of his employees instead, such as Angel Dust.
He does, eventually, show off his real behavior after some time. Valentino uses his charming persona in order to lure other demons into working for him, as shown in "Welcome to Heaven" where Valentino admitted spending much of his time in nightclubs, picking up demons and offering them "jobs" at his studios, with him hiding his more violent and psychotic behavior in order to convince them to willingly "work" for him.
Valentino is depicted as being controlling, abusive, and narcissistic, specifically towards one of his star employees, Angel Dust.[4][5] He also displays sadistic tendencies, appearing to take enjoyment in overriding Angel's consent, and remains seemingly unbothered by the trauma he is inflicting.
Valentino is frequently surrounded by a collection of the girls who work for him. He is ostentatious in displaying both his profession and status. Faustisse bluntly described him as "a huge fuckboi".[note 8] Despite this, he is apparently in a romantic relationship with Vox.
Valentino has been described by Angel to be a "psychopathic freak".[6] He has a reputation of throwing massive tantrums when one of his "whore" employees disobey him. Because of his temperamental side, he throws objects and rips other demons apart when he is angry, and he doesn't think about how his actions affect his and the Vees' image to where Vox had to explain that "chasing whores around town" will "fuck up" their "image". Once he calms down, he is more pragmatic and fully aware of possible negatives to acting too rashly.
On the other hand, even he has his limits. He was visibly shocked when Vox uncharacteristically snapped at him for wanting to murder everyone at the hotel. He is also terrified by Niffty's creepy stalker-ish and homicidal behavior.
Abilities
Strength - Valentino's strength appears to be greater than the average demon, being able to slam a door so hard a cupboard got knocked down "Masquerade", and was able to tear demons into pieces with his bare hands in "Radio Killed the Video Star", when Velvette recounts how he "tore up her best model", despite presumably not having any weapons on him. One display of his strength is when he ruthlessly physically abuses Angel Dust by choking him and slamming him around with a single hand.
Valentino using his wings to put out fire
Wings - Valentino has a pair of moth wings shown to be able to produce powerful gusts of wind that can easily put out a large fire with one flap.
Wing alteration - These wings can cover his body to form his coat, or can be hung down like a cape. It is possible his wings can form coats of various designs as he is seen in "Welcome to Heaven" wearing an alternate style coat.
Ocular, and saliva illumination - Valentino's eyes give off a faint red glow, particularly if he's in a dark room, and his mouth can glow when he's giving a sinister smile. His red saliva also glows, mainly when he's acting perverted.
Multitasking - Valentino can multitask with his extra set of arms, such as holding his drink while he's decorating one of his guns.
Typhokinesis - In the ADDICT music video, Valentino exhales a red, heart-shaped smoke from his cigarettes that has the ability to twist and form different shapes, entering the bodies of other demons, as Valentino directs it. However, a similar smoke is also present in a cigarette Angel smokes indicating that this is both from a specific cigarette he own and also a natural ability of Valentino, since, in "Masquerade," he smokes a cigarette Angel was smoking and the color of the smoke changes when he blows it into Angel's face.
Smoke constructs - Valentino can manipulate his red smoke into specific shapes that are physically solid, as shown in "Masquerade" where he formed a chain and manacles to bind Angel Dust and show his dominance over him.
Skillset
Weapon proficiency - As shown in the prequel comic, Valentino is easily able to shoot a moving target with accuracy from a notable distance away.
Charisma - Valentino possesses a flamboyant and vivacious charm that allows him to persuade others of his authority.[note 6]
Bilingualism - Valentino can fluently speak Spanish and English.
Contracts - Like all Overlords, Valentino amassed his power and influence by "owning" souls. The method he uses to accomplish this is by having his victims sign their souls away to his ownership through the contracts he conjures, as shown in his ownership of Angel Dust, where the latter had willingly signed his real name in his contract to "work" for Valentino. However, in some cases, there are loopholes that makes them untouchable under certain circumstances, such as Angel being free from him and his influence outside his studio, which Valentino apparently can't remove. It is possible for Valentino to willingly render the contract null and void and release Angel from his control if he chooses to do so.
Artistic talent - According to the "Clocktower Countdown to Premiere" livestream, Valentino is actually a talented artist.
Singing and dancing - Valentino has shown to be a good singer and exceptional dancer, being able to performing a duet and dance with Vox.
